Roses are the flower the month

for June. However, by June all of

my roses have finished blooming and

there will be no more until next Spring.

That seems to be par for the course

here in this neighberhood. Not enough

Of the right kind of sun. And all of the modern roses

are supposed to be remontant bloomers.

Out in other neighberhoods the roses do much better.

Too many trees here. Too much competition.

Here is a grandeflora trying it's best.

There are ten flowers altogether. Two
of the buds are in the back out of the picture.

The weather has roughed up them a little.

I used to grow a lot of roses but gave up on them. Too much trouble with aphids and japanese beetles.

I loved the old-fashioned roses that are so fragrant.
